Pura Vida Bracelets have become extremely popular, but are they worth it? My first Pura Vida bracelet was actually purchased from a flea market in 2012. The girls and I came across a table full of brightly colored bracelets and fell in love. It wasn’t long before we tracked down the Pura Vida website and ordered more. I was surprised to see that they cost about $5-$6 each, but they offer free shipping on orders over $35.

Our First Impression

When our first “official” Pura Vida package arrived, I was a little shocked and disappointed with the stiffness and waxy feeling of the bracelets. Especially since they were a little more expensive than the average bracelets we were accustom to buying. The one’s we had purchased from the flea market were obviously well worn; which you couldn’t tell just by looking at them.

Comfort & Strength

Eventually, like leather, the brand new waxy Pura Vida bracelets felt exactly like the ones we had been wearing for months. The bracelets are adjustable from 2-5 inches in diameter, so they fit almost everyone comfortably. And considering I’ve had the same bracelets on my arm for over 2 years, I’d say they are pretty durable. My kids have had a few break on them, but they break everything so it’s really no surprise.

Overall, We love our Pura Vida Bracelets. Are they worth it? Yes! The quality is outstanding and there are so many styles and colors to choose from. But the best part about Pura Vida Bracelets are the wide variety of charities and causes they support; from Autism and Anxiety Awareness to Sea Turtles and Rain forest, Pura Vida covers it all.
